Whether it is a world away or here at home, I strive to help others through my work. I learned the significance of helping others from my parents who spent their careers teaching people with disabilities. In this respect, I learned one powerful lesson from my parents: be passionate about your work. I am passionate about the law and I look forward to working for you.
I joined McIntosh Law Firm as an Associate Attorney in 2013. I am a trial attorney and member in good standing of the Florida Bar Association. Prior to joining McIntosh Law Firm, I worked as a Foreign Service Limited officer with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Afghanistan. My job in Afghanistan included monitoring and evaluating legal training programs for the Afghan Appeals Court.
My family and I are active members of the Sarasota community. I serve as the Vice-Chairman of the Sarasota County Democrat Executive Committee and I am a Board Member of the Gulf Coast Returned Peace Corps Volunteer Association. I am a parish member at Church of the Incarnation in Sarasota. We are members and frequent visitors to the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens.
Kevin Griffith earned his Juris Doctor degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in Cleveland, Ohio. Griffith holds a Master of Science degree in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Griffith earned an undergraduate degree from St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas.

"Compassionate, Knowledgeable Attorney"Two years ago I was charged with a felony and my lawyer and I agreed that a plea agreement was my best choice of action. Within the first year my lawyer died unexpectedly, two months before my first sentencing hearing. My family made numerous calls to lawyers in the Sarasota area and Brett McIntosh was recommended and took on my case. He is a very smart and knowledgeable attorney who was also easy to talk with. We discussed my situation at length and he explained every aspect of my case with me. He worked hard for a year through numerous postponements on my behalf and was able to get my sentence lowered. He is an excellent attorney who treated me like a person and not just a client. I made poor choices which led to my arrest and he believed in me and knew I was a good person. "Outstanding!"Brett worked on my case for almost over a year. He put so much time and effort into my case it was unbelievable. We ended up going to trial. The trial lasted three days, and Brett and Kevin never stopped fighting. They put so much heart into everthing they did. We won that trial, and I was found innocent. "Amazing lawyer!"I unfortunately got myself into a second DUI situation that was possibly winnable, and Brett pushed it as far as he could take it, even informing me of how the police officer was going to testify to give me a chance to accept a plea agreement (which i did) . Let me remind you I could've taken this to court with a chance to win, but it would have been my word against the police officers, a risk i didn't want to take. With the plea agreement and in front of the Judge, Brett made me look great making great and valid points for the Judge to accept his offer over the states with certain stipulatioins, i'm not going into specifics but alot of people don't get half a good of deal on their first DUI. Brett was very thorough, he did a great job and well respected in the court room. He comes highly recommended by me, just hope I don't require his expertise again.- AVVO Reviewer - Lucas
