Do not underestimate the penalties for white collar crimes

Facing criminal charges of any kind is a threat to your future and your freedom as a Florida resident. Regardless of the type of charges you are currently facing, you would be wise to take direct action to protect your interests in every way possible. This is particularly true if you are facing federal charges, such as any charge related to white collar crime.

If convicted of charges for a white collar crime, you could be facing very serious penalties, including time in prison. You have no time to lose in building a defense suited to your individual needs and tailored to your legal objectives. There is much at stake, but you do not have to face white collar crime charges by yourself.

Type of white collar crime

White collar crimes are crimes committed with the intent of some kind of financial gain. This can take many different forms, but all are serious crimes, even if they do not initially seem like it. The most common types of white collar crimes include:

  • Fraud: This type of crime involves various types of deception of an individual for financial gain.
  • Securities fraud: There are various types of securities fraud, but one of the most common includes insider trading. This is when a person uses inside information for stock trades to make more money.
  • Tax evasion: Tax evasion is a crime committed by a person who does not pay taxes that he or she currently owes. This can include filing forms with false information or even transferring property to avoid tax obligations.

These are just some of the various types of white collar crimes that could land you in serious legal trouble. While the penalties associated with these types of charges are significant, you could, with a strong defense, effectively confront them. While not violent crimes, white collar crimes should be taken seriously.

Defending your future, protecting your rights

Federal crimes are daunting, but you still have rights. Whether you are under investigation or are already facing charges, you have no time to lose in building a defense and protecting the entitlements granted to you by law.

An effective defense against federal charges requires legal acumen, experience in high-stakes cases and a close knowledge of the law. With the right tools, you may be able to preserve your freedom, mitigate some of the penalties you are facing or potentially avoid a conviction. Your future is too valuable to face these serious charges alone.
